The pandemic has had a negative impact on so many things. There can be no denying however that with the right technology, connectivity and attitude, it has also succeeded in making a very strong case for home working - my modus operandi since founding Laconic Insights in 2014.

Since March 2020, I’ve also found it heartening that home working plus travel restrictions has evidenced almost as strong a case for location-independent working, albeit role and function permitting.

So I’m going to ‘ride the wave’ that changes in attitude and perception have created and will soon relocate to a traditional French village near the Brenne national park, some five years earlier than I’d originally planned.

I already have the right technology, I’m arranging the right connectivity and I definitely have the mindset to continue to build Laconic Insights’ success from a French base.

…and there’s a strong urge building to chalk this up as ‘Me 1-0 Pandemic’.
